The Vista Murrieta Band is a consistent regional finalist and a recipient of the Sudler Shield.
In 2017, Vista Murrieta is expected to compete at the Downey Regional.

At Long Beach, the group defeated former Grand National finalist Ayala and swept captions in finals. The band's first regional champion title was well-deserved, and the year of their first trip to Grand Nats was certainly a good year to achieve it.
Two weeks later in Indianapolis, Vista Murrieta made their first appearance at Grand Nats in almost ten years. A solid performance in semifinals earned the group 14th place overall, just one spot and less than a third of a point out of finals.
VM also received the Al Castronovo Esprit de Corps award, given each year to the band that best exhibits the "pride, spirit, enthusiasm, friendliness, and unity of purpose for the activity of marching bands in this country."
