The Chattanooga Regional saw one of the most exciting jumps from prelims to finals. Evansville North was in a less than ideal performance slot as the very first group to perform in prelims, but were able to give a meaningful enough performance to earn a spot in the top half of finals. Overall they improved from fourth place in prelims to first place and regional champion in finals.

Past regional champion Franklin and rising Georgia band Cass finished second and third in finals, with Sparkman taking fourth place. Franklin and Sparkman also tied for the music award in finals, beating Evansville North in that specific caption.

In Austin, Leander ISD continues to show off their excellence, taking the top three spots in both prelims and finals. While past regional and national champion Vandegrift won the prelims contest by nearly 1.5 points, Rouse was able to squeeze out a narrow 0.15 point victory in finals primarily based on their strenght in the visual caption. Vista Ridge earned third place with Cedar Park finishing just 0.35 points behind in fourth place.

Caption awards were shared among the three medalists with Vista Ridge winning music, Rouse and Vandegrift tying for visual, and Rouse outright winning the effect caption.

First time regional champion Richland beat out past champion Clovis, sweeping captions ahead of the New Mexico band. In prelims, however, Clovis won the top spot, winning both the music and general effect captions. Eastlake, of Texas, finished third.

Lakota West won a third consecutive regional champion title in Columbus, running up a 2.5 point margin above second-place Goshen and sweeping captions. Madison Central, of Kentucky, finished third.
