Coppell competed at the Arlington Regional and the San Antonio Super Regional.
At Arlington, they placed 8th overall, falling just behind Keller and positioning themselves low enough to not be considered for finals at San Antonio.
If they had done extremely well at Arlington, it could have changed their trajectory for San Antonio, but it was not enough to get them into finals. They placed 22nd overall, well outside of the top 14 groups that make finals.
Coppell competed at the Denton Regional. They did pretty well, placing fifth almost three full points behind LD Bell. We would have loved to see them at San Antonio, possibly making finals and proving they deserve to stay on the list, but this placement kept them off the Top 30 for the remainder of the season.
Getting 1st place in AAAA music at San Antonio prelims is an incredible feat. Coppell is another musically talented TX band that has the tools to be a contender in the next 10 years for San Antonio, UIL, and Grand Nats high placements should they choose to attend. Unrelated: Coppell is one of three bands on this list who's 2013 show was called "Fury."
