Bartlett wins first Memphis Regional, usual suspects win elsewhere in week 4

The brand new Memphis regional did not disappoint. The event drew 24 bands, including many new BOA participants, from 8 different states. Local groups dominated the competition with Memphis-area bands winning all of the top 3 spots in finals and 5 of the top 6 spots overall.
Bartlett took the top spot, winning caption awards for best music and general effect. Hernando took second place and won class AA in prelims. Third place went to Collierville, which also won the award for best visual performance.

In Dallas, Hebron won a decisive victory, sweeping caption awards in finals. Fellow Lewsiville ISD schools Marcus and Flower Mound won second and third place, respectively.

American Fork won the Flagstaff Regional, sweeping captions with more than a 2.5 point margin over second place. Vista Murrieta and Clovis finished second and third, separated by just over a tenth of a point.

In Houston, The Woodlands took the top spot, sweeping captions for best music, visual, and general effect in finals. Ronald Reagan was about 1 point behind, and took the general effect caption award in prelims. Third place went to Cy-Fair, the group that won the first Houston regional in Shenandoah last weekend.

Jenison won a second consecutive Toledo Regional, narrowly beating Centerville, Rockford, and Norwin in that order. This was the tighest competition this weekend, with less than 1 point separating the top four groups, all of which received a first place ordinal from at least 1 of the judges in finals.
