The Claudia Taylor Johnson Band is a former Grand National finalist, a consistent regional and super regional finalist, and a recipient of the Sudler Shield.
In 2017, Johnson is expected to compete at the Austin Regional, Midland Regional, and San Antonio Super Regional.
2017

In the coming weeks, Johnson will compete at the Midland Regional, where the band will certainly win another champion title, before heading to the San Antonio Super Regional in early November.
2016

At Austin, Johnson placed third behind third behind Leander and Vandegrift. At Conroe, Johnson placed second behind Ronald Reagan. These two strong regional performance kept CTJ among the highest-ranked Texas bands.
At San Antonio, Johnson earned seventh place in prelims, but improved to fourth in finals. That position made them the second highest-scoring group headed to Grand Nats.
In Indianapolis, Johnson faced off against some of the best bands in the nation. The group finished ninth overall in finals out of 100 bands.
Flashdance may not have been the most precisely executed show of the season, but it was certainly one of the most fun. It was obvious that not only were audiences and judges loving the show, the kids were having a blast performing it on the field, and sometimes, that's all that matters.
2015

The McAllen Regional was an extremely easy win for CTJ, with essentially no serious competitors aside from Harlingen, who tied CTJ in the music caption.
The Conroe regional was much more competitive with district-mate Ronald Reagan in attendance. While Reagan won overall by a half a point, Johnson won the music caption and tied in the visual caption.
At San Antonio, CTJ had a chance to defend their champion title, but finished in third place with no captions after placing first and winning GE in prelims. Welcome to Texas, where sometimes luck is the only thing that separates the top few groups.

The band won the Conroe regional over The Woodlands decisively, sweeping captions in finals. A few weeks later, they were able to carry that momentum into San Antonio, where they won both the prelims and finals competitions, a pretty huge accomplishment at the two-day super regional. We expect the same level of excellence from CTJ in 2015 as they aim to defend their super regional champion title with another crowd-favorite production.
2013
Over the course of two months, Claudia Taylor Johnson's acrobats became national favorites of the BOA fan base. This show was spark plugged with GE, and this band out of SA has grown into a major player nationally despite this school's very recent opening (in 2008). We've really enjoyed all of the shows this group has put out and expect this year to be no exception. Unfortunately, CTJ will not be attending Grand Nats in 2014, but hopefully they'll go in 2015!
