In 2016, Round Rock will be competing at the Austin Regional and the San Antonio Super Regional.

Round Rock competed at the Austin Regional, the Arlington Regional, the San Antonio Super Regional, and the Grand National Championships. After a tough season in 2014, and subsequent reorganization for 2015, Round Rock fought back into the upper half of the rankings with excellent performances at San Antonio and Grand Nats.

The season started with a close third place finish behind Leander and Cedar Park at the Austin Regional. It would have been a first place finish, if not for the 0.5 point penalty Round Rock received.

Two weeks later, Round Rock placed third at the Arlington Regional, directly behind the three powerful Lewisville ISD schools: Flower Mound, Hebron, and Marcus.

At San Antonio, Round Rock placed ninth, but their visual caption significantly outperformed their music caption.

At Grand Nats, they finished in seventh, right behind fellow Texas band The Woodlands.

Next year is a UIL State Championship year for Round Rock and we'll see if they can return to the state championships after failing to qualify in 2014.

Round Rock competed at the Austin Regional and the San Antonio Super Regional. It's no surprise that we love the Round Rock band, but they weren't able to perform at quite the same level we saw in 2013. We were expecting this group to accelerate the pace this year, since their season would end two weeks sooner with San Antonio and UIL Finals instead of Grand Nats. Unfortunately, they didn't even qualify for UIL finals and ended their season in 11th place at San Antonio. Maybe 2015 will see the return of the Round Rock that placed fourth in Grand National Finals.

What a year for Texas bands. Round Rock's stunning improvement from their 9th place finish at San Antonio to their 4th place finish at Grand Nationals (and stunningly grabbing the Music caption in Class AAAA in Semifinals) helped the Dragon Band finish their first GN trip in style. Their show, titled "Elemental Evolution", was a crowd favorite through its musical depiction of the four elements. One of the most memorable moments of Grand National finals was their opening hit — WOW. Lots of excitement is surrounding the Rock Band's history-making in 2013 (when they celebrated their 100th year as a school) and the nation is excited what the next step is for their program.
