The Vandegrift Band is a consistent regional and super regional finalist.
In 2017, Vandegrift will be competing at the Austin Regional, Conroe Regional, Texas Marching Classic, and San Antonio Super Regional.

As the season continues, Vandy will travel to Houston and San Antonio and compete locally in Austin as they continue defending their reputation as one of the best bands in Texas musically and overall.
2016

At Austin, Vandy won their class in prelims, and then went on to win the entire competition in finals. It was the group's first-ever regional champion title, but it will likely not be the last.
At San Antonio, the band earned third place in prelims, including first place from both music effect judges. It was another historic moment, but ultimately the group slipped back to seventh place in finals.
It was an exciting year for Vandy, including their first single digit placement in the Top 30, but we don't expect them to slow down anytime soon.

At Austin, Vandegrift put up a good fight, grabbing the music caption in prelims. Ultimately, they were unable to pull ahead of Cedar Park and Leander and place fifth overall in finals.
At San Antonio, Vandy continued to perform fell, placing 10th in finals and second in Class AAA, though Leander's exhibition-only performance may have allowed Vandy to place a spot higher than they otherwise would have. While it wasn't like 2013, when Vandy won the overall music caption in finals, it was definitely an exciting year and sets Vandy up for an excellent 2016.
2014
Vandegrift competed at the Austin Regional and the San Antonio Super Regional.After grabbing the music caption in finals at San Antonio 2013, we were shocked to see Vandy get whipped by Leander in every round of competition at both events. We are hoping that this will start a friendly little rivalry between these two class AAA schools that will make both of them improve tremendously.
2013
Vandegrift took music in Finals at San Antonio (over the band that won music at Grand National Finals I might add) then took the UIL 4A State Championship a few days later. Heck of a season for Vandy considering in 2011 and 2012 they didn't even make San Antonio Finals. From 2011 to 2013 they went from 26th to winning music in finals. We think it was the biggest surprise season in BOA this year and we expect even more surprises from this group going into 2014.
