This week, we see a new group in the top position following an exceptional performance at the Plano Regional.

Flower Mound wowed everyone in attendance and watching online with both their prelims and finals performances. They are way ahead of any other group at this point in the season. We're just sad they aren't going back to Grand Nats anytime soon.

Another notable change caused by Plano Regional performances is the Marcus Band's jump from 15th place to eighth place after impressing judges and stepping ahead of Hebron.

Outside of Texas, Rosemount makes their debut on the Top 30 after winning another Youth in Music champion title. The beat Eden Prairie and several other Minnesota groups in advance of their St. Louis appearance in a little over a week.

The previous week's rankings are in parenthesis. Read about how we determine rankings.

  1. So proud of all the bands at Plano - WOW - it was awesome. The 4 Texas Regionals are over - now it's time for the Super Regional in San Antonio - or as it's called in Texas "Grand Nationals South". SA is going to be a dog fight to get into Finals. Several bands look to be locks based on Regional results. But there's going to be a large group fighting for the final spots. Some very good bands won't make SA Finals. Just looking at this websites Top 30 - it has 15 Texas bands who will all be in SA and only 14 SA Finals spots. Some Top 30, Next 10, and maybe a few surprises won't get in. It's very hard for bands who are considered Top 30 in the nation to not make SA Finals. But the season isn't over at BOA SA. Most of those same Top 30 & Next 10 bands will be in SA again 3 days later for UIL 6A State. I'm not sure which crown is more coveted - BOA SA Finals or UIL 6A State - and these 2 events often produce different champions. It's going to a crazy final few weeks in Texas. Good luck to all!

    1. Texas has always been a scary competition, especially for us out-of-state bands who choose to go. I thank my lucky stars I was given the oppertunity to become the third non-Texas band to perform in finals back in 2013. In finals retreat I met some really cool people from all 13 schools from all over my native state. This year is gonna be a bloodbath because we have some guys ending their season earlier (and therefore reaching their prime earlier) then a lot of the mainstay Texas Titans. I''m really looking forward to this year

    2. Boa SA will be a complete bloodbath this year. Good luck to all competing bands!

  2. So exciting to see a Minnesota band reach the top 30!!
