Top 30 Rankings — Sept. 25, 2018 (Week 2)

Top 30 Rankings — Sept. 25, 2018 (Week 2)

The rankings are largely unchanged this week, as most of the results were mostly as predicted. Carmel certainly did not disappoint at the Oxford Regional, which allowed them to hold on to the no. 1 spot for another week.

There was quite a bit of movement among the groups that will be competing at the Austin Regional this weekend. CTJ slipped to sixth, while Vandegrift stepped up to the top five. Leander continues to shoot up in the rankings because of some rather high expectations for their 2018 program. We'll find out this weekend which of these proactive rankings movements — primarily influenced by our contributor rankings — were valid and which were maybe just based on hype.

Timber Creek earned a spot in the Next 10 after winning the Midland Regional, and while we don't release the actual placement for groups in the Next 10, let's just say they were really close to being ranked this week, and could find themselves in the Top 30 soon, depending on how they perform at the Bedford Regional in two weeks. Seven Lakes impressive second place finish at McAllen behind Johnson earned that group a spot in the Next 10 as well.

The previous week's rankings are in parenthesis. Read about how we determine rankings.

    1. Let me guess, you also think BSS is better than Golden Regiment?

  2. Oxford was weak in comparison to some other performances, still was thinking Centerville would get a boost after their 78.5 and 2nd place finish however.

  3. Youve provided the guidelines for how you rank, but how do you rank bands that you haven't seen the show for yet?
